Take a look at the new ‘Resources’ page (at the top of the screen just along from ‘Home’ and ‘About’). This is where we’ll put all sorts of useful resources and links that we think you might find helpful.
Not wanting to waste an opportunity to improve your WordPress skills, here’s a reminder of how this new page was set up:
- Open the dashboard for your blog
- Scroll down to Pages (on the lefthand side)
- Click on Add New
- Give the page a title
- Write the content for the page
- Hit the Publish button
Want to know how we set up the links to the documents?
- Type the title of the document where you want the link to appear (see ‘Resources’ page for an example)
- Highlight the title
- Choose Add Media – along from Upload/Insert 4th icon, looks like a star (see below)

- You can insert any of the following file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt, odt, pptx, docx, pps, ppsx, xls, xlsx.
- A dialogue box opens titled Add media files from your computer
- Click select files
- Find the document you want to upload
- Click on the document title to highlight it
- Click on open
- Make sure the title is as you want it to appear in your blog post
- Click insert into post
As a courtesy, you can add in brackets after the title of the document what size it is so that people know what they will be downloading (see the Resources page for an example). Happy posting!
